Our Story
Preserving History with Care
My journey in historic preservation began in 1981 with the purchase of The Quint House, an 1853 Greek Revival home in Rural, Wisconsin. That experience led to the creation of the Rural on the Crystal National Register Historic District—and a lifelong passion for restoration.
While restoring antique furniture, we developed a process that preserves original stains and patinas—far better than harsh, outdated methods. The results were not only authentic, but beautiful.
This approach has taken us across the U.S., restoring historic woodwork in churches and public buildings. We believe restoration is about more than technique—it’s about honoring craftsmanship and history.
Most of our work is done in your area, and we've been lucky to meet amazing people in places we’d never have otherwise seen.
If you’re considering a project, feel free to reach out. We love this work—and we’d love to help.
